Contribution to the creation of consensus...

The lack of consensus as to the basic terms connected to the issue of equality and the principles of non-discrimination within the judiciary and among professionals in Slovakia is negatively reflected in the decision taken by the courts as well as in the public discourse on this issue. By creating an expert legal platform, functioning for the whole duration of the project and by organising a symposium “Equality in the Slovak reality” with a regional dimension, the project will greatly contribute to the creation of consensus of all relevant stakeholders on issues related to equality and non-discrimination. Furthermore, these activities will directly increase the expertise and offer solutions as to issues pertaining to non-discrimination.. The aims of this priority will also indirectly contribute to improved implementation of non-discrimination legislation and will foster further dissemination of information at the national level (Fostering dissemination of information on EU and national policy and legislation in the non-discrimination field).

The Platform of Legal Experts will be the first initiative of its type for a national authority in Slovakia and should contribute to establishing the tradition of cooperation between relevant stakeholders in the area of non-discrimination.
